Sports Infrastructure: Historic Khudiram Bose Stadium Approved for ₹6 Crore National-Level Upgrade
In a massive win for the local sports community, the Bihar Sports Authority has officially approved a ₹6 crore budget for the comprehensive redevelopment of Muzaffarpur’s historic Khudiram Bose Stadium. For years, local athletes and football players have struggled with inadequate training facilities and poor ground conditions. This new initiative aims to elevate the stadium to meet strict national standards, allowing the city to host major national-level football matches and athletic tournaments.
The detailed project report includes a complete overhaul of the playing turf, the construction of four modern dressing rooms with attached medical and restroom facilities, and enhanced accommodations for visiting athletes. Additionally, a 10-foot-high security barricade will be erected around the perimeter to ensure the safety of players and spectators during high-profile events. Local sports associations have welcomed the move, noting that access to a high-quality, modern facility will provide a massive psychological and technical boost to young, aspiring athletes in the Tirhut division, potentially putting Muzaffarpur on the national sports map.
