Women's Empowerment: Thousands in Muzaffarpur Benefit from Seed Funding for Start-ups
The push for female entrepreneurship is gaining unprecedented momentum across Muzaffarpur district. Under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, thousands of women in both rural and urban sectors of the city have recently received seed money grants of ₹10,000 transferred directly to their bank accounts. This initiative is designed to bypass traditional barriers to capital, allowing women to launch small-scale, independent businesses ranging from local tailoring boutiques to food processing units and retail kiosks.
During recent evaluations, officials noted that beneficiaries from Muzaffarpur have shown remarkable ingenuity in utilizing these funds. Successful business models are now being digitally mapped by the Rural Development Department. Women who demonstrate sustainable growth with their initial seed money will soon become eligible for a second tier of financial assistance, offering up to ₹2 lakh to further scale their enterprises. This multi-phased financial backing is drastically changing the socioeconomic landscape of the district, empowering women to transition from homemakers to active, income-generating business owners.
